They both are equally good and competent to each other. They are so convincing that it is tough to accept any other actor playing these roles. Raina have made live the characters of Byomkesh and Ajit respectively. Good content is not very effective when not portrayed convincingly. The sound quality is better than that of the first season. There are chances of outdoor shooting in this episode, however the director have thoughtfully put focus on the important events and most of the stuff is filmed indoor (apart from the climax). The background music is a positive attribute of the episode. They reflect real life communication well. Anyway, overall portrayal of the characters is up to the mark. We have however felt that Ajit’s character is getting shorter in the episodes of second season. He have given enough footage to almost every essential characters. He have explored the characters quite effectively.
In addition to writer, director Basu Chatterji is also in full form (when he is not?). Of course, Basu Chatterji did a fantastic job as a script writer and he got assistance from some fantastic team members. The marriage at old age with a young lady, having too much wealth, and people are lining up to claim the inheritance are not too far from the reality – in such setup. Bandyopadhyay is he took inspiration from the real life, and thus his characters can be related to the real world quite easily. The environment of a wealthy landlord family and typical situations there, are explored pretty well. It also shows the pros and cons of being too wealthy. It has all the elements of a murder mystery. The story is written nicely by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay (aka Saradindu Bandopadhyaya). How it all unfolds and who is the culprit, is the rest of the story. Ratikant seems co-operative and enthusiastic in resolving the murder mystery. While Byomkesh is investigating the stuffs, inspector Ratikant was the official in-charge of the case. And the list of suspects include many of them. The injection was routine one for Deep Narayan but seems was tempered with during the breaking of his clinic. Deep Narayan Singh was found dead! And the cause to same was considered the fatal reaction of injection given by Dr.
Major incident happens in the days following. By suspecting a burglary there, he have cross checked the venue and after locking it, he came there (at the party) to inform the Doctor. Palit’s dispensary’s door was found unbolted by someone. Ratikant informs him that when doing his routine patrolling, he found that Dr. Palit, one of the invitees who look after Deep Narayan Singh’s health, is summoned by Inspector Ratikant. The invitees include DSP Pandey who visit the party with our beloved detective Byomkesh Bakshi and his aide Ajit Kumar Banerjee. Upon his recovery to pink health, the party was arranged. He is an aged fellow, who was ill since last 5-6 months. Deep Narayan Singh is one of the wealthiest landlord of entire state of Bihar. The elite class citizens of Calcutta (Now Kolkata) are invited to a party by Deep Narayan Singh. It is worth to note that the fictional incidents of story are staged in year 1956. The climax of the episode proves that the love story explored in this episode got the perfect title.
